After moving to London at the end of 2022, Knats took London by storm playing sold-out Jazz Re:freshed and Rough Trade East headliners, supporting Str4ta at a sold-out Jazz Cafe and performing for the BBC Proms; as well as working with and backing the likes of Geordie Greep and Eddie Chacon and collaborating with major fashion brands Palace, Beams and Arc’teryx.
After signing to Gearbox Records at the beginning of 2024, 2025 saw Knats release their debut self-titled album, recorded at Damon Albarn’s Studio 13 and mixed by the legendary Hugh Padgham. The album has gained critical acclaim from the likes of Jazzwise, Rolling Stone Japan, The Guardian and many more.
Support: Phil Stevenson Trio
- Phil Stevenson – guitar
- Dave Ferris – organ
- Oscar Reynolds – drums
The Phil Stevenson Trio play original music rooted in funk and influenced by melodic guitar styles from Senegal to Zimbabwe. Blending these influences with the warmth of the Hammond organ and a vintage snare backbeat, the trio features Oscar Reynolds on drums and David Ferris on organ. This show will be the launch of their new EP Marva, from which the first single, ‘Catfish’, is a tribute to the James Brown/Funkadelic guitarist Phelps Collins. The gig will be recorded and feature new material that pushes the organ trio in different directions.
Doors 7:00pm, starts 7:30pm. Limited seating. Over-18s only.
